StaStartTata Consultancy Services (TCS) has suspended several employees at its Nashik unit following allegations of sexual harassment and religious conversion. The company has not disclosed the exact number of employees suspended.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Nashik, are suspected to be the masterminds behind the alleged sexual harassment and attempted forcible religious conversions at the workplace, senior police officers investigating the matter told The Hindu on Monday (April 13, 2026).
Investigators identified the duo as Tausif Attar and Nida Khan.
Police said four teams have been formed to trace Ms. Khan, who is absconding. She had been working as an HR manager in the Nashik office before being transferred to Mumbai.
Who are the accused in the case?
Those arrested were identified as Asif Ansari, Shafi Sheikh, Shah Rukh Qureshi, Raza Memon, Tausif Attar, Danish Sheikh, along with a woman whose identity has not yet been disclosed.
Of the seven, six are in magisterial custody, while one is allegedly on the run.
An eighth accused—the firm’s HR manager, who handled human resources at the Nashik office—is also “under the radar” of the management.
What TCS said
Tata Sons chairman N. Chandrasekaran has assured that action would be taken against those found guilty, according to a statement from the Tata Group. The aeroplane-to-salt conglomerate stated that it “maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of coercion or misconduct by its employees”.
“The complaints and allegations emerging from the Nashik branch of Tata Consultancy Services have been gravely concerning and anguishing. This incident is being treated with the utmost seriousness. Action has already been initiated against the accused employees, and the company is extending its full cooperation to the ongoing investigations. A thorough investigation is underway to establish the facts and identify all individuals responsible for this situation,” Mr. Chandrasekaran said.
